A bottle of La Grande Dame 1990, the flagship Prestige Cuvée Champagne from Veuve Clicquot. This is a blend of 61% Pinot Noir and 39% Chardonnay harvested from eight Grand Cru villages and was launched in 1999 ahead of the millennium celebrations.

1990 was a famously rich, ripe vintage, setting a 30 year record, with almost 2100 sunshine hours in the vineyards.
