A bottle of Krug 1985 vintage Champagne.
Krug Champagne is a Champagne house founded by Joseph Krug in 1853. It is based principally in Reims, the main city in France’s Champagne region, and is one of the famous Champagne houses that formed part of the Grande Marques. Today, the house is majority owned by LVMH, but despite this, the Krug family is still actively involved in all the key decisions of the house.
'Fully mature, bronze colour and rather a sluggish bead. Quite a bit of mushrooms and toast on the nose but wonderful freshness on the palate. Great balance. Powerful but not at all sweet. Fully resolved. Very impressive. 19/20 points.' Jancis Robinson MW, 2014
