A bottle of Bollinger 1973 RD Tradition, a blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay. This was disgorged on 3 March 1983.
'RD' stands for 'récemment dégorgé', or 'recently disgorged'. This style was first introduced by Madame Bollinger in 1961 for the 1952 La Grande Année vintage. Disgorgement is a process in Champagne making which involves the removal of the frozen sediment collected at the neck of the inverted bottle. RD Champagnes are aged on their lees for longer than most vintage releases, resulting in a more mature and complex wine.
This carries a royal warrant by appointment to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Please note, there is no ABV stated on the labels.

However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. Older bottles often contain small amounts of sediment. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
