A bottle of Côte Rôtie La Garde 1983 from producer Dervieux-Thaize, harvested from one of France's steepest vineyard sites.
Domaine Dervieux-Thaize was owned by Albert Dervieux, who made wine from three parcels in Côte Rôtie from the Côte Blonde until his retirement following the 1989 vintage, after which his son-in-law, the now-legendary winemaker René Rostaing leased the vineyard. Albert's La Garde cuvée was blended using a small quantity of Viognier, and was matured in old oak foudres and bottled without filtration.
Please note, there is no size or ABV stated on the labels but this appears to be a 75cl bottle.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note damage to the labels and capsule.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. Older bottles often contain small amounts of sediment. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
