Description

A bottle of The Macallan Forties Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky bottled for the Travel Series.

This was created by The Macallan's Master Distiller to re-create the style of whisky produced at the distillery in the 1940s. During the Second World War, Spanish sherry casks were in short supply. This, combined with the distillery's use of peat to dry the barley, means that the whisky from this era was drier and smokier than The Macallan we know today.
