A 150cl magnum bottle of 2009 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Vieilles Vignes from Domaine de la Charbonnière .
Domaine de la Charbonnière own 17.5 hectares of vineyards in the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation, with owner Michel Maret producing several different blends, all of which he bottles unfiltered. The core of the Cuvée Vieilles Vignes comes from 80 to 100 year old Grenache vines from perhaps the region's most celebrated vineyard, La Crau, with Mourvèdre in a supporting role for freshness.
'the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Vieilles Vignes is full-bodied, structured and concentrated, with lots of ripe red and black fruits, ripe tannin and a great mid-palate. It will have two decades of longevity. 94/100' Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, 2016
