This lot contains a case of 12 bottles of 1952 Carruades de Lafite Rothschild, the second wine of Château Lafite Rothschild from Bordeaux's Pauillac appellation, shipped by Barton & Guestier negociants.
Carruades de Lafite is similar in style to the wine of the First Growth Château itself, but with a higher proportion of Merlot in the blend and the inclusion of specific plots that are earmarked to produce Carruades. The name comes from the Carruades plateau, a group of plots acquired in 1845 just next to the vines on the Château hilltop.
Please note, the original wooden case is available for customers wishing to arrange collection, or can be included with the lot for an additional charge equivalent to a further twelve bottles.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note minor damage to the labels.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. Older bottles often contain small amounts of sediment. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
