A bottle of 2016 Gut Oggau Rose, from southern Austria's Burgenland, close to the border with Hungary. This is a blend of two of Gut Oggau's cuvées, Winifred and Josephine, which were combined in 2016 because of low yields caused by heavy spring frosts. It is a field blend produced from two indigenous red grape varieties, roughly 50% of which is Zweigelt and 50% Roesler. It is unfiltered, unfined and bottled without using sulphides by cult 'natural' winemakers Eduard and Stephanie Tscheppe.
This lot comes from the temperature-controlled cellar of a UK businessman and wine enthusiast, where it has been kept since purchase direct from importers.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note wear to the label. This is a natural wine, and is expected to be cloudy in appearance.
