Description

A bottle of Cartology Chenin Blanc-Semillon 2016 from Alheit Vineyards in the Western Cape of South Africa.

This is a blend of 89% Chenin Blanc and 11% Semillon harvested from dry grown bush vines most of which are 40 to 50 years of age. This is whole-bunch pressed and matured in cements eggs, clay pots, foudres, and old barrels of various sizes, with fermentation lasting anywhere between 3 weeks and 11 months.

'Fresh and detailed with nice precision and weight. Lively citrus with some tangerine and grapefruit. Still tight and linear, this has wonderful potential for development. Lively and stony on the finish. 94/100' Jamie Goode, Wine Anorak, 2017
