A bottle of Porseleinberg Swartland Syrah 2015 from South Africa, owned by the famous Boekenhoutskloof estate, and made by 'wild man' Callie Louw and colleague Rosa Kruger from 2.5 hectares of vines.
'A really perfumed nose of violets, jasmine and incense. Nutmeg, cloves, Chinese spices, dark licorice and dark-chocolate shavings to follow. Full body, grippy and grainy tannins, vibrant acid drive and a long, chewy finish. A granite and savory aftertaste. Really well done. Drink now or hold. 95/100' James Suckling, Wine Spectator
