Description

A bottle of Dalwhinnie 36 Year Old. This was distilled in 1966 and bottled at cask strength in 2002. This is the first bottling of Dalwhinnie to feature in the Diageo Special Releases range.

This is bottle number 575 of 1500.

When it was built in 1897 the distillery was called Strathspey, the owners changed the name to Dalwhinnie, which means 'Plain of Meetings' in Gaelic, when production started in 1898. The name is a reference to its location at a junction of old drove roads, between two mountain ranges. A fire in 1934 caused a four year closure.

This Dalwhinnie 1966 36 Year Old sold at our online auction for £975
