A bottle of Piper Heidsieck 1979 Brut Rosé Champagne from France. This is a blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay.

'In many ways this wine is similar to Florens-Louis, with its idiosyncratic, super-intense combination of toast and crispbread, which can only be achieved if malolactic fermentation is avoided. The taste also has notes of red wine and is somehwta less finely shaded than the firm's best white Champagnes' 90/100' Richard Juhlin, tasted 1990
