Description

A 50cl bottles of 1996 Tokaji Aszú, 5 Puttonyos, a sweet wine from Hungary, produced by The Royal Tokaji Wine Company, co-founded by wine writer Hugh Johnson.

Five puttonyos is equivalent to 125 kilos of botrytised grapes added to a 136 litre barrel of base wine: enough to give the resulting wine a richly luscious character whilst maintaining good levels of natural balancing acidity.
