Description

A bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée Champagne, 164th edition. This is a blend of 48% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 17% Pinot Meunier based around the 2008 vintage. Following eight years on its lees it was disgorged in Spring 2016.

Grande Cuvée is blended from around 120 wines from multiple vintages, some as much as 15 years old. After bottling it remains in Krug's cellars for a further six years, resulting in a complex, 'vinous' Champagne. Wine critic Andrew Jefford noted that: 'of all the wine world's luxury wine brands, Krug is perhaps the most glittering'.
