Description

A bottle of Kykkos Commandaria from Cyprus, produced by Kykkos Monastery. This was aged in oak barrels for over 20 years before bottling in 2001.

Commandaria is an amber-coloured dessert wine from Cyprus, produced from the Xynisteri and Mavro grape varieties which are dried in the sun before fermentation. It has the distinction of being the oldest named wine still in production, with the name Commandaria dating back to the 12th century.
