A bottle of 1990 Hermitage La Chapelle from producer Paul Jaboulet Ainé, grown in the north of the Rhone valley on one of France's steepest vineyards.
Judged to be 'a truly great wine' by wine author Jancis Robinson MW, the 1990 also received a perfect 100 point score from American critic Robert Parker, and is widely considered to be only a whisker behind the 1961 (regarded as one of the twentieth century's finest red wines) in terms of quality.
Hermitage AOC is an appellation in the northern Rhone valley, producing red wine from the Syrah grape variety.
