A miniature bottle of Macpherson's Cluny Scotch Whisky, sealed with a cork stopper. This was guaranteed distilled in Scotland by John E McPherson & Sons. Ltd. We estimate this was bottled in the 1940s.
Please note, there is no size or ABV stated on the labels.
Whisky blender John E Macpherson & Sons was founded in 1857. The company's main brand, Cluny Scotch Whisky, was named for the traditional title of the Chief of the Clan McPherson, who at the time was founder John E Macpherson's cousin. In 1952, the company was acquired by Scottish and Newcastle Breweries Ltd.
This lot is from a large collection of miniatures and memorabilia built up during the 1980s and 1990s by whisky expert Sukhinder Singh. He is now selling part of his collection to make room for more acquisitions.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note general wear.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. Older bottles often contain small amounts of sediment. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
