A bottle of Guigal Condrieu 2016.

Condrieu is the one of the most celebrated white wine appellations in the Rhône Valley, with Viognier the only permitted grape variety in the hilly, 200 hectare appellation. The wine style is generally described as textured and perfumed, with peachy characters.

Please note, received wisdom is that Condrieu is an unusual fine wine style generally best-consumed within four to eight years of release, though others enjoy them for their developed ‘secondary’ characteristics which come with additional bottle age.
