A bottle of 2004 Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Champs Gains Reserve Francois Labet, bottled by Henri Darnat in Meursault, France.
Established in the nineteenth century, Henri Darnat has been head of the family 'negoce' business (making and selling wine produced from grapes not grown on the family property) since 1985.
Harvested from an organically farmed quarter-hectare plot of the Champs Gains Premier Cru, the name translates as 'the fields reclaimed from the forest', and is situated at a high altitude of 340 and 360 meters, near the hamlet of Blagny on shallow, rocky soils rich in clay and limestone.
