Description

This lot contains two pieces of correspondence sent from James Stewart & Co. of Saucel Distillery to its client Mr Bernard Ferris, Spirit Merchant, Kilrea, Ireland. Saucel Distillery, also known as Paisley distillery, was owned by James Stewart & Co. from 1852 to 1903.

One letter requesting that three empty casks be returned to the distiller, dated 20 February 188- [the last digit of the handwritten year is illegible, but the post marks are dated 20 and 21 February 1883].

One letter concerning the purchase and shipment of 'three hogsheads of Fine Old Malt Whisky', dated 1 November 1882.
