D'Issan Auction

Bordeaux Wine Auction

This lot contains seven bottles of 2000 Chateau d'Issan from Bordeaux's Margaux appellation.

D'Issan was classified as one of fourteen Troisièmes Crus (Third Growths) in the historic Bordeaux Wine Classification of 1855.

'Wonderful aromatics of walnut, leather, soft truffles, touches of cloves, this is a perfect wine for the winter months. The high acidity maintains freshness and backbone but there is a definite tertiary feel at this point with autumnal raspberry and blackberry fruits. It's gentle and welcoming with the elegant edge that Issan does so well. Feels like an old friend and practically begs you to stop what you are doing and open a book. 94/100' Jane Anson, Decanter, tasted 2019

This lot comes from the temperature-controlled cellar of media businessman and wine enthusiast Lord Evgeny Lebedev, where they have been kept since purchase direct from UK importers.

This Chateau D'Issan 2000 sold at our online auction for £340
