Description

This lot contains two bottles of Avignonesi Capannelle 50 & 50 2000, a Sangiovese and Merlot 'SuperTuscan' blend from Italy.

The Capannelle brand came into being in 1974 following purchase of a 16th century villa surrounded by 10.5 hectares of land in Gaiole in the heart of the Chianti Classico DOCG by Italian businessman Raffaele Rossetti. Now owned by American businessman James B. Sherwood, it currently has 35 hectares of indigenous Italian and international grape varieties planted.

This lot comes from the temperature-controlled cellar of media businessman and wine enthusiast Lord Evgeny Lebedev, where they have been kept since purchase direct from UK importers.
