This lot contains six bottles of 2000 Château Magdelaine Premier Grand Cru Classé from Bordeaux's St Emilion.

'Like most Magdelaines, this wine builds in increments rather than blasts from the glass. A worthy rival to the great 1998, the 2000 Magdelaine has a deep ruby/purple color and a sweet nose of mulberries, black currants, and jammy cherry notes intermixed with mineral, licorice, and a hint of subtle toast. This wine is sweet, expansive, and dense, with the gorgeous fruit hiding some relatively elevated tannin. The finish is long, and this classic needs a good to 4-5 years of cellaring.
