Description

This lot contains six bottles of 1989 Chateau Margaux Premier Grand Cru Classe from Bordeaux.

'This is a dormant volcano of a wine waiting to explode with fruit. Bubbling over with flowers, blackberries, cherries and chocolate. Full-bodied, very chewy, adding masses of tannins. Long dried cherry, berry aftertaste. Very closed; needs time.--1989 Bordeaux horizontal. Best after 2009. 99/100' James Suckling, Wine Spectator, tasted 1999

This lot comes from the temperature-controlled cellar of media businessman and wine enthusiast Lord Evgeny Lebedev, where it has been kept since purchase direct from UK importers.
