Description

A bottle of Gilbey Pantheon Port, bottled and guaranteed by W & A Gilbey Ltd. We estimate this was bottled in the 1930s.

The label reads: A Fine Douro Wine guaranteed Full Strength not less than 35 Degrees on which the Maximum Duty of 1/- per bottle has been paid.

The building pictured on the label is the Pantheon, Oxford Street, which served as W & A Gilbey's offices and showrooms from 1867 to 1937.

The label carries a royal warrant by appointment to His Majesty King George V.

Please note, there is no size stated but this appears to be a 75cl bottle.
