A 'dram for the Buckie road' is how the locals refer to Speyside's Aultmore distillery which has been producing malt whisky since 1897. It was founded by Alexander Edward, an important figure both in Scotland's whisky and tourism history, then in 1923 the distillery was bought by John Dewar & Sons. It is highly prized as a blending malt so official bottlings were rare until the range was expanded in 2014 to include 12, 21, 25, and 30 Year Old expressions.
