Auction for Equal Measures

Whisky.Auction hosted a charity auction from 23 August to 01 September, to raise money for Equal Measures. Lots were kindly donated by friends within the industry and all proceeds, including buyer commission, were donated to Equal Measures.

In tough times the drinks industry has rallied together to provide a host of exciting lots to suppost Equal Measures, including rare bottles and unique experiences. Bidders will be able to choose from a wide range of lots, with highlights including:

  • GlenAllachie 1990, 35-year-old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky
  • Signed Limited Edition E&A Scheer 250th Anniversary Rum Bottling (never before sold), accompanied by a handwritten card from Master Blender Carsten E. Vlierboom
  • The sold-out Chichibu Single Cask TWE Exclusive 20th Anniversary Whisky bottling
  • A 1996 Ardmore Single Malt Whisky Cask (42.3%; 42 bottles) with personalised bottling and label design, donated by Whisky Bottlers Ltd.
  • The ultimate Islay experience: ownership of a Ferguson Whisky Islay Cask, an exclusive warehouse tasting with Founder David Ferguson, and a two-night stay in a beautiful four-bedroom house in Port Charlotte.

Equal Measures is the UK's leading non-profit dedicated to delivering intersectional Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), from bar to boardroom, in the drinks and hospitality industries. The organisation enriches possibilities for workers from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds, as well as those who are queer, genderqueer, neurodivergent, or who have faced systemic barriers to their career progression.

Equal Measures’ Education & Mentorship programme gives beneficiaries the tools, contacts and confidence needed to build and sustain rewarding careers. Through EDI consultancy, it educates the global trade, building awareness of obstacles faced by marginalised groups, improving existing hiring practices, inputting safeguarding policy and procedure, training teams, and working collaboratively to make hospitality a place where everyone can thrive.

The charity auction was part of the September Whisky & Spirits auction and raised £15,745.11 for Equal Measures.
