The Lowland region of Scotland was once the home of grain whisky production, supplying the huge blending houses of old. Perhaps the most famous distillery from the region was Rosebank, which closed in the early 1990s only to reopen almost 30 years later.
Today a few of the old malt distilleries survive, such as Auchentoshan, Bladnoch and Glen Kinchie, and there's been some more recent arrivals too, including Daftmill, Lindores Abbey, Ailsa Bay and Annandale.
